The usage of anonymous proxies has risen significantly in the past 6 months according to specialist internet fraud and security provider, Eunexus. This is concerning news to online organisations experiencing internet fraud, as it indicates criminals are getting smarter at evading basic online fraud detection systems.

Technical Director Benn Dullard announced "This news will not come as a huge surprise to Internet Security and Fraud professionals. Some of the original online scams have generated from Nigeria, namely the Nigerian 419 scams. This is a natural progression for those criminals into a more high tech space of Online banking fraud. I think most banks in Australia have good techniques in place to identify and block activity from geographical hotspots."

Eunexus is a niche provider of Internet fraud and security products. Eunexus clients include many of Australia's largest banks and online trading organisations.
